CIRIEC International (International Centre of Research and Information on the Public, Social and Cooperative Economy (www.ciriec.uliege.be/en) is an international non-governmental scientific organization founded in 1947. Its objectives are to undertake and promote the collection of information, scientific research, and the publication of works on economic sectors and activities oriented towards the service of the general and collective interest. Its headquarters are based in Liege, Belgium, since 1957.

CIRIEC features today an extensive network of national sections and institutional collective members in 23 countries: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cyprus, Costa Rica, Ecuador, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, Romania, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Tunisia, Turkey.

The scientific work is carried out in scientific commissions and working groups with the participation of the CIRIEC scientific network (https://www.ciriec.uliege.be/en/our-network/become-a-member/).

CIRIEC publishes the scientific journal Annals of Public and Cooperative Economics (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/14678292) published by Wiley. CIRIEC also publishes books and research papers, which are indexed in REPEC, available on the CIRIEC website: https://www.ciriec.uliege.be/en/publications/wp/

CIRIEC España is the Spanish section of CIRIEC (www.ciriec.es). It was established as an association in 1986. Its headquarters are at the University of Valencia. Its Board of Directors includes recognised professors specialised in Social Economy issues, as well as representatives of associations, federations and confederations of social economy companies in Spain. Its publications include the leading scientific journal on Social Economy in Spain and Ibero-America, CIRIEC-España, revista de economia pública, social y cooperativa (http://www.ciriec-revistaeconomia.es)

It has a European information and documentation centre specialised in social economy and public economy: CIDEC (www.uv.es/cidec), whose main mission is to offer support to research and training in the fields of social economy and cooperative movement through specialised information and advice to researchers, professors, professionals of the sector, students and other people interested in social economy issues. The centre is currently one of the most important in Europe in the field of social economy and the cooperative movement.
